Culture in Schools - Project: The Body Tells a Story
"The Body Tells a Story" is an educational workshop program for school classes in grades 4 to 9. Through urban dance styles such as hip-hop, breaking, and other forms of expression, children and teenagers learn to express themselves physically and tell their own personal stories.
The focus is on nonverbal communication: Body language translates spoken language into visual signals to support and reinforce communication. Our workshops foster creativity and strengthen self-confidence.

Breaking Experience Workshop
(4 school lessons)
The students will receive a brief introduction to movement, rhythm, and dance, and how to tell a story through movement. Afterwards, they will experiment, invent their own movements and movement sequences, and practice them.

"Breaking Workshop and Show" for a class
(3 days)
In the workshop, the students discover breaking and other urban dance styles, learn new forms of expression, and develop a small show for the school together with the course instructors.

"Urban stage dance theatre with breaking" for a class (5 days)
In this workshop, students gain an insight into breaking and urban dance styles and discover how the body can tell stories. Together with the instructors, they develop a small urban stage dance theater piece for the school performance, experiment with new forms of expression, and actively create their own movements for the show.

"Breaking Workshop and Show" for two or three classes (6 days/half days)
In the workshop, the students gain an insight into breaking and other urban dance styles such as popping, animation, pantomime, acrobatics, and hip hop. They learn how the body can tell stories, experiment with new forms of expression, and develop a short show together with the instructors, which is performed at school on the last day.
